April 12, 2013 - PRLog -- A recent report from PayScale says that the subject a student majors in, makes a big difference to the salaries they earn after graduating. The report found that engineering, technology, maths and science graduates on an average, earned more than those who majored in the arts. It seems that there is direct co-relation between learning maths and science, and the earning potential of an individual, later on in life. Students who cringe at the thought of science and maths will benefit from the private coaching at Math Success.

The first seven majors in the list were all engineering majors. Applied mathematics was eighth on the list, followed by computer science and mathematics. Another unrelated survey found that graduates who had quantitative backgrounds received better salaries than their peers did, in the long run.

In many ways, private tutoring complements the education children receive in schools. Tutoring makes it possible for the student to receive more individual attention. The learning mechanism is also flexible. Because the environment is less formal, many students who would otherwise not learn in a school will learn when a private tutor teaches them. It was also observed that when parents cannot afford to send their children to private schools, the combination of public schooling and tutoring, could give the same benefits.

According to a study conducted in Germany, by Mischo and Hang, among school-going children between the grades of fifth and eleventh standard, those who received private tutoring showed improvements in their academic performance and were more motivated.

When students learn Math and science, they are actually learning problem-solving skills. Tackling maths and science problems requires the application of problem-solving methods that are even useful in everyday life. When learning maths and science, students learn to define the problem, then they think of how they can solve it, and finally they implement solutions and finally they evaluate results. Learning maths and science is an exercise for the brain and it boosts brainpower.

It is well known that intelligence can be modified if the brain has high plasticity. As experiences become more challenging, varied, and rich, neural networks become stronger and elaborate. As they learn, students will come across many abstract concepts in maths and science. Because the brain has to think in new ways, it is forced to build new connections.

Math Success offers tutoring for primary and high school students in maths and science. Students learning the German and United Kingdom syllabus can also be tutored. First year university students can receive tuitions in maths and science as well.
