M-Series Converter, providing excellent accuracy to ±0.5% of reading. The FPI Mag Flow Meter also has obtained CSA certification to UL 61010-1 and CSA C22.2 No.61010-1-04, expanding the markets and applications for this meter.
Featuring an advanced filtering algorithm, McCrometer’s M-Series Converter supports FPI Mag Flow Meter accuracy of ±0.5% of reading from 1 to 32 ft/s and ±1% from 0.3 to 1ft/s. The M-Series Converter, now standard with all McCrometer mag meters, offers many other new features, including: built-in dual 4-20 mA outputs for communication flexibility, additional programmable outputs to support SCADA systems and a simplified menu structure for ease of use.
The FPI Mag Flow Meter is the industry’s only hot tap full profile insertion flow meter available on the market. The FPI Mag installs without service interruption making it ideal for retrofits, upgrades and maintenance projects and sites never metered before. The hot tap installation significantly reduces installation time by eliminating the need to de-water lines or cut pipe, saving customers up to 45%.
David Corbin, Senior Product Manager with McCrometer, said, “The combination of accuracy, installation ease and application versatility provides a unique set of features and application benefits. Our new accuracy, which rivals that of competitive technologies, combined with new certifications is continuing to open up newapplications and helps plants run more efficiently at lower cost. We are talking with new plant and process teams that didn’t realize they had an alternative flow meter option.”
The FPI Mag is available for forward-flow only or a bi-directional measurement for line sizes from 4 to 138 inches. The flow sensor comes pre-calibrated from McCrometer’s NIST traceable Calibration Lab and requires no recalibration in the field.
The FPI Mag supports liquid flow measurement requirements in municipal water and effluent wastewater treatment, industrial process intake water, feed water, chilled water, cooling water, fire water, water recycling and effluent discharge. Typical municipal water applications include: wells, booster stations, effluent, filter balancing and backwash, pumping stations, UV dosing and potable water distribution.
The FPI Mag Flow Meter also supports applications in a wide range of industrial process plants including chemical, electric power, food/beverage, oil/gas refining, metals/mining, pulp/paper and more. The flow meter is also ideal for campus style facilities for chilled water and HVAC applications.
McCrometer’s advanced liquid, steam and gas flow measurement solutions solve complex challenges in Municipal/Industrial Water & Wastewater, Process Control & Plant, Electric Power Generation, Institutional Facilities, Oil & Gas and Agriculture. The company’s products and systems are found in thousands of installations worldwide. Its products and systems meet many of the world’s most demanding industrial, safety and quality standards.
