myON™ Reader Adds Android App to its Mobile Access Library

April 11, 2013 - PRLog -- MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Capstone Digital, leading provider of digital literacy resources to the K-12 marketplace is thrilled to announce the expansion of mobile access to its flagship solution, myON™ reader, with the release of its Android App.  More than 1.2 million students already have access to thousands of books on the myON platform, but this expansion will provide them with unlimited anytime, anywhere access to their personalized learning environment from virtually any device using the Android operating system.

Available free of charge to existing myON customers, the Android App offers users the ability to choose from a library of more than 4,000 enhanced digital books to download for offline reading.  Originating from Capstone and 21 additional leading publishers, each title accessed through the new app offers highlighting capabilities as well as an audio and embedded dictionary along with multi-touch gestures like swiping and zooming to provide the best possible reading experience.

All student activity within the app is tracked and recorded, even when books are downloaded and read offline, providing teachers a comprehensive, mobile classroom management system.  Both on and offline activity is recorded within the app, and is automatically updated the next time they log on, where books read, time spent reading and more are tracked.  This allows for student reading growth to be measured based on the Lexile® Framework, allowing students, parents and teachers access to personal trajectory reports forecasting their expected reading levels.
