Berlin, the 11th of April 2013: Right on time for the “Gallery Weekend” there’s something new coming to life in Berlin’s culture magnet Friedrichshain. One new art gallery with two very different parts. BC Gallery’s headquarters are located in a brand new top-of-the-line gallery space at Libauer Strasse while its counterpart can be found among the off-the-wall location amidst the famed RAW strip, home to many underground clubs, culture spots and some great murals and graffitis.

The two locations enable the gallery owners to set a fitting tone for each artist, providing them a surrounding they find most suitable. Either a sleek background within a modern space or a gritty location to give the artworks a down-to-earth surrounding, enabling an authentic portrayal either way.

Nick Bargezi and Seth Carmichael have already established a fixed line-up for the upcoming gallery season. Artists include Bumblebee, Interesni Kazki, Inti, Jaz, M-City, Moneyless, Sixeart, Sowat and Stinkfish, but more are still up for discussion.

“It was important to us to have a good starting point, which we have achieved with the strong line up. We have managed to get great artists who have already done some important work within the city. But some of them - despite their amazing quality - have never had a proper Berlin exhibition of their work in all their glory. We will set that record straight” says Nick Bargezi of the involved artists of whom Jaz and Moneyless are confirmed to attend the opening event.

The Opening night is set for the 26th of April, with the opening show running through May 5th. “We are super excited to have found a long awaited opportunity to be part of the European art scene by joining forces in Berlin with Nick Bargezi and BC Gallery.” says Seth Carmichael.

BC Gallery for Urban and Contemporary Arts is a newly Berlin based outlet for high-end urban and contemporary art to feature regular solo and group exhibition by internationally renowned urban artists. Basel born owner Nick Bargezi is an art collector, photographer and sound designer who lives and works in Berlin. Seth Carmichael is a New York resident and established Carmichael Gallery in L.A. along with his wife Elisa in 2007. He has been a driving force in the urban art scene since the early 2000s.
