BAKER, La. - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- “When I heard the news of Matthew Warren my heart was sadden,” said Bishop Ricky Sinclair. “I think about my boys and how I would feel if I lost them at such a young age. I send my prayers to Rick Warren and his family.” It is hard to lose a loved one, but the pain that is felt when a parent has to bury one of their children is unexplainable. Rick Warren said in an email to his church staff, “No words can express the anguished grief we feel right now. Our youngest son, Matthew, age 27, and a lifelong member of Saddleback, died today.” (http://www.charismanews.com/us/38980-rick-warren-asks-for-prayer-after-son-takes-own-life)

Even in times of despair, God is with those who trust in Him. “You have collected all my tears and preserved them in your bottle! You have recorded every one in your book” Psalms 56:8. This verse shows us how concerned God is with our afflictions. He cares so much about us that He collects our tears and keeps a record of it.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. The scripture again assures us that God is there to comfort us in our times of affliction. How great is it that our God cares about us and what hurts us. He is not just a God who sits on a throne from heaven looking down at us. He is God who is always with us. He hurts when we hurt and wants us to lean on Him in our pain.

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2. “Just as Saddleback Church is carrying this burden for the Warren family, so is Miracle Place Church,” states Bishop Ricky Sinclair. “We hold up the body of Christ in prayer, and when we lose a member of the body we grieve.” The body of Christ is one unit and should operate as such. Distance and territory should not divide the church. The church should all have the same purpose, and that is to glorify God and bring people to the Kingdom of Heaven.

May God be with the Warren family and comfort them in this hard time.
