New Location, New Partnership & New Feature Designer Announced for Curves Rock Fashion Weekend 2013

BALTIMORE - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- The second annual Curves Rock Fashion Weekend will showcase a new location, partnership, and feature designer for 2013. Building on the success of the sold out runway show last year, Curves Rock Fashion Weekend is back bigger and stronger. This year’s weekend will extend to 4 days, running Thursday, July 25th through Sunday, July 28th. To accommodate the high demand for tickets to the fashion show on Saturday, the models will walk the runway at the Inner Harbor’s Hyatt Regency Hotel located at 300 Light Street, Baltimore, MD 21202.

Plus-size supermodel/actress and Baltimore native, Liris Crosse returns; but this year, in addition to hosting, she is a partner of the event. She is infusing her more than a decade of runway and catalog experience with plus-size fashion leaders, Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart (as recently as spring 2013) to bring nationwide attention and New York fashion show flare to the production. She, along with Curves Rock Fashion Weekend creators and organizers, Tykesha Reed and Chanell Jones are planning a fashion extravaganza that will be the highlight and most coveted ticket of the summer in the Baltimore, D.C., and Virginia areas.  In an effort to stay on the pulse of fashion relevance, the team enlisted plus-size designer, Shanda Freeman as the feature designer for Curves Rock Fashion Weekend 2013. Ms. Freeman, a New York native, is a new designer whose first collection debuted at Maryland and New York Fashion Weeks in fall 2012. Her latest collection, Oceana, premiered during BET’s 2013 Rip the Runway in March.
