Most Widely Used Android Devices - Q1 2013

MIAMI - April 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Each month, hundreds of thousands Android users search for an update for their phone and tablet. Most of those people end up at Android Update .co.

An analysis of data from the Month of August showed Sixty Thousand visitors to AndroidUpdate.co used a mobile device to access the site, representing fifty four percent of unique visitors. This is double the number of visitors in the last quarter using a mobile device instead of a desktop.

Here are the Top Five devices that Android Update .co visitors used to access the site.

1. Apple iPad

2. Samsung Galaxy S3

3. Samsung Galaxy S II

4. Motorola Droid Razr 4G

5. Apple iPhone
We find it quite amusing that giving the strong loyalty Android & Apple users have to their devices that so many iPad users would also be owners of an Android Device.

As we drill down further, it should be an even bigger surprise that number 5 on the list if none other than the iPhone itself! This can be attributed to the high number of iPhone users who have an Android based tablet.

Interesting to note also is the fact that Sony Ericson slipped off the list of top ten devices.

Most common version of Android that visitors are using is version 4.0, followed by 2.3, followed by version 4.1. We assume that Android 4.0 users are already itching to upgrade to the new version Android 4.1. It is a shame that many Android 2.3 devices do not have an update to 4.0 available.
