The 2014 Honda Odyssey has Been Revealed With Some Exciting New Features

The new vehicle offers some new safety features and an in-vehicle vacuum.

ORLAND PARK, Ill. - April 9, 2013 - PRLog -- The new 2014 Odyssey, which will be available from Community Honda of Orland Park (http://www.communityhonda.com/why-us/) sometime in 2013, boasts some exciting features that should especially appeal to families. The refreshed minivan was unveiled in the top-of-the-line Touring Elite trim level with a number of new features that should improve safety and, apparently, cleanliness. The revised minivan was unveiled at the 2013 New York International Auto Show in March, and will probably reach Honda showrooms by the end of the calendar year.

The first thing that Honda went about improving was safety, with an eye on exceeding expectations in the new tougher crash tests administered by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The new tests include the small overlap frontal impact crash test, which evaluates safety in collisions with small objects like telephone poles. Honda made use of their sophisticated Advanced Compatibility Engineering II body structure, which was strengthened to account for this new test. Honda will also make sophisticated preventative safety features available to help drivers avoid collisions; these include forward-collision warning and a lane departure warning system, both of which which can be added to the Touring Elite trim.

The Odyssey will also receive some revised exterior styling. While it will retain the distinctive large rear side windows, it will get a lighter aluminum hood, front fenders, and redesigned grille and bumpers. The Touring Elite trim will get distinctive touches like projector-beam headlights; chrome-trimmed fog lights, and an LED light strip running between the two taillights.

The other distinctive feature available on the Honda Odyssey Touring Elite is a new built-in vacuum. Developed in a partnership with Shop-Vac, the new HondaVAC will reach every part of the interior and will run for eight minutes when the vehicle is off.
