Luxury European hotel Les Trois Rois selects MICROS eCommerce technology for iPad mobile ordering

The Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, one of the oldest city hotels in Europe, has chosen the MICROS eCommerce platform for mobile ordering of food and drink.
 
BASEL CITY, Switzerland - April 9, 2013 - PRLog -- London, England – 9 April 2013 – MICROS Systems, Inc. , the leading provider of technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois, one of the oldest city hotels in Europe, has chosen the MICROS eCommerce platform for mobile ordering of food and drink.
As a five star hotel steeped in history and tradition, Les Trois Rois prides itself on the service that it provides to customers. When the hotel opened an exclusive Cigar Lounge, where guests can enjoy a selection of the finest cigars, food and drink, they faced the challenge of how to take orders from guests when the smoking laws prohibited bartenders from entering the Lounge.
Working with MICROS, Les Trois Rois implemented a mobile ordering solution that allows customers to place orders on iPads that are built into the tables in the Lounge. The solution, based on the MICROS mycentral eCommerce platform, allows customers to peruse the food and drink menus, viewing high definition images of the food options that are on offer, before placing an order.
The iPad orders are fed directly into the designated MICROS RES point-of-service system, allowing the food and drinks to be prepared swiftly and accurately. When the order is ready for collection, the bartender clicks and the iPad in the Cigar Lounge will vibrate or play a melody alerting the customer that the order is ready for collection. The customer can place several orders during one visit, with a single check that can be requested and signed for as they leave the Lounge.
