By: Artist London Amara / London Amara Studios Opening night is March 3, 2013 (6:00pm-10:00pm) Amara consistently pushes the boundaries of art, using her handmade charcoals, graphite, water based paints, oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, enamels, encaustics, welded steel, oxidized metals and even film to visually excavate and capture brief moments of strength and fragility. “I’m in good company and on the same humble path of the greatest artists that have come before me. Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Julian Schabel, and Damien Hirst are just a few of the famous artists who have paved the way, using unusual methods of expressions in their art. I use an extremely large array of mediums to explore and express my creative manifestations. I just love to experiment and see what happens next.” The following are some examples of London’s public works: Innisbrook Golf Resort, $12,000 assemblage painting commission using 30,000 golf tees The Tampa Bay Lightning, $15,000 assemblage painting using 1,000 hockey pucks, weighing over 500 lbs Fine Mark Bank, enamel on canvas, undisclosed amount Allstate Insurance, $9,000 oil on canvas London is represented by Michael Murphy Gallery, in Tampa FL, and her large scale black and white abstract paintings can be seen there.
