April 8, 2013 - PRLog -- The Award, launched in 2007 by the Qatar Business Women’s Association, focuses on women who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and managerial qualities in their fields.  According to Qatar Statistics Authority, just 36% of Qatari women are working, a figure set to rise to 42% by 2016.  The aim of the awards is to recognise and celebrate the contribution of these women in Qatar, whilst inspiring future generations of women to achieve their full potential.
Participants in the award will undertake a series of workshops, running from April to June in Doha.   Designed to develop skills in leadership and gain an understanding of future goals, financial planning and innovation and along with private study, these workshops will form an academic, internationally recognised development qualification for the applicants.
Judith Barton, Chief Assessor for the Award and Managing Director of The Development Partnership said “Following on from the huge success of QBWA 2011, we are delighted to again be assessing these prestigious awards, and demonstrating the contribution of professional and business women to the dynamic business environment in Qatar.”
Individual applications from all applicants will be assessed from September 2013 and following completion of the one-to-one business coaching sessions for each participant, the Winners of each category will be announced on the 11th November 2013.
