Veterinarians have reported that symptoms of affected pets will vary depending on the level of the attack. They have indicated that some of the pets may turn to be sluggish and drowsy. They may experience normal or bloody diarrhea, vomiting, and fever. Other pets may just experience reduced appetite, abdominal pain, and fever. It is important for pet owners to note that infected but healthy looking animals can be carriers of Salmonella. This means they have the potential to infect humans and the other pets. You are being advised to contact a veterinarian if your pet has consumed any of the recalled dog food. This will enable the veterinarian to check your pet and see if it is infected.

The affected canine products are suspected to have been sold from December 18th, 2012 to March 15th, 2013. They are said to be having expiration dates ranging from December 17th, 2013 to January 2, 2014. These products were sold in bags to some pet specialty retailers, local veterinary clinics, and online stores to consumers in the United States, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, and Korea among others. Natural Pet Products have thus cautioned its products users to check on the brands they are feeding their pets. If it is any of those dog food mentioned, they should stop using it at once.
