Mission 50 Workspaces Grants Six-Month Residency to Local Entrepreneur

HOBOKEN, N.J. - April 5, 2013 - PRLog -- April 4, 2013 - Mission 50 Workspaces (http://www.mission50.com/), Hudson County's premier shared office environment, has granted one local entrepreneur a six-month residency at its Hoboken Business Center (HBC) location. The recipient, Yajayra Casanova, will have access to Mission 50's communal working area, wide range of support services and four hours of conference room time per month. The residency, valued at $2,000, was granted by Mission 50 in partnership with Rising Tide Capital of Jersey City, a non-profit organization that supports under-resourced entrepreneurs.

"For an aspiring entrepreneur, the overhead costs associated with securing office space can be staggering, making it very difficult to find a location from which to operate," said Greg Dell'Aquila, president of Mission 50. "Small businesses are the backbone of our community. Offering this residency was our way of providing a new business owner with a creative, collaborative atmosphere in which to grow her company's presence and become more profitable."

Located in the 3,000-square-foot penthouse of the HBC, Mission 50 is a shared work environment for independent professionals, entrepreneurs and small businesses, designed to foster productivity and collaboration. Amenities include laptop-ready desks with Internet connectivity; virtual mailing addresses; print, copy, scan and fax capabilities; and three soundproof phone booths. The conference room accommodates up to eight people and is equipped with the latest projector technology.

Casanova, a North Bergen resident, established "Docs in Place" in 2011. Her company offers virtual support and administrative support services to real estate agents, start-ups and other small business owners. She plans to use her residency at Mission 50 to meet with current and prospective clients, advertise and promote her company, and grow her reputation within the Hoboken marketplace.

"While working in real estate offices for many years, I realized how agents often need an extra set of hands to help take their business to the next level. With that in mind, I decided to start my own service working as a virtual assistant for these agents," explained Casanova. After taking classes through Rising Tide's Community Business Academy, Casanova was encouraged to expand the scope of her services to include small business owners as well. "Most of the real estate agents I work with are from Hoboken. Having this space at Mission 50 will give my business a more bona fide feel, and provide a professional meeting point for clients," she said.

Casanova will have access to Mission 50's communal working area during its regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. "Most of the entrepreneurs we work with don't have a lot of traditional experience in business management. What they do have is a passion or a project they may have been working on for years, but just don't know how to turn it into a viable business," said Ian Tyson, BAS Program Associate at Rising Tide Capital. "When starting a new business, a person often needs an office space to plan out strategies, talk over problems and ideas with other people, or meet with clients in a professional setting. Yajayra will get to do all of that at Mission 50 and more. We are very happy to provide this opportunity to Yajayra in partnership with Mission 50 and hope it will create the foundation she needs to achieve long-term success."
