Follow on Google News | Nursery group invests £300,000 to create a 'hidden gem' haven for local childrenA West Hampstead baby boom and a day nursery group's desire to create a new 'hidden gem' haven for local children have led to a massive £300,000 refurbishment at a Woodchurch Road-based day nursery.
By: Asquith Nursery manager Shandel Dubois explains: "A local baby boom has meant that our baby room which previously could only accommodate sixteen babies, wasn't meeting demand, Nnw our new suite caters for twenty four. Our new-pre-school room, complete with latest Smartboard computer equipment, specially crafted wooden furniture and a children's kitchen that enables children to make their own snacks, can now also cater for twenty four children in a superb new 'outdoor adventure' environment." She adds: "Parents just love it. We've registered seventeen new families in the past couple of weeks. And one of our regular mums jokingly enquired last week if she could lie about her son's age so he could stay at the nursery longer!" The new-look garden area - part of the Asquith Day Nurseries group focus on improved use of outdoor space at all its nurseries - boasts a special figure of eight race track, two state-of-the- Enthuses Shandel: "This really is a hidden gem in London. If you looked at the nursery from the front you would never believe the size of the garden at the rear. Children learn through fun, and our new-look nursery is all about our children having a great time in an outstanding environment while they are in our care." The nursery, housed in a Victorian building, is Ofsted-rated 'Good' , has the highest EHO rating for food safety and hygiene and is registered to look after up to eighty four children. Asquith Day Nurseries runs seventy eight nurseries nationwide. Last year alone the company spent over £4 million on nursery refreshes and refits. End
