Follow on Google News | J.L.Wallace Awarded Contract for Florida Power & Light Hurricane Hardening ProjectJ.L. Wallace, Inc. will be modifying and expanding the existing foundations. Masonry pilasters will be constructed on all four elevations, along with minor mechanical and electrical improvements, and new stucco and paint will complete the exterior. The intent of these improvements is to bring the structure’s exterior walls up to current hurricane wind load requirements - ensuring the communication center will stay up and running despite severe weather conditions. The project is set to begin on April 1st and will be completed prior to the start hurricane season on June 1, 2013. Brian Cappucci is serving as the Project Manager for J.L. Wallace, Inc with Ken Furtado as Superintendent and Robbyn Spears as Project Manager Assistant. Architectural design services will be provided by BRPH. Based in Fort Myers, Fla., J.L.
