HOUSTON - April 4, 2013 - PRLog -- The National Black Pre-Law Admissions & Preparation Conference and Law School Recruitment Fair is the nation’s premier information-sharing and networking empowerment event focused on encouraging the success of aspiring Black lawyers.  This comprehensive conference is designed to help Black pre-law students become more excellent, competitive and strategic law school applicants and law students.  Through workshop sessions and panel discussions, law school administrators, law students, lawyers, law professors and judges share critical information about what it really takes to get into law school, pay for law school and manage student loan debt, make the most of the entire law school experience, and compete for a job or create one’s own opportunities.

Just as importantly, another major component of the event is to provide real life positive role models of extremely accomplished African American lawyers who are willing to share their personal stories of how they have beaten the odds to achieve success and who have demonstrated a true desire to make a difference in their communities.  In keeping with this aim, the conference is excited to announce that Attorney Patricia Rosier, President-Elect of the National Bar Association (NBA), the world’s largest and oldest national organization made up of predominantly Black lawyers and judges, will serve as a featured keynote speaker at this year’s event.

Patricia Rosier is the Managing Partner at the Rosier Law Firm, with offices in both Maryland and the District of Columbia.  Her firm concentrates in real estate, securities, corporate/finance, insurance, family and entertainment, medical malpractice, personal injury and mass torts. Prior to entering private practice, Attorney Rosier served as General Counsel for Forum Capital Management, Inc., Associate General Counsel for Martin Marietta Corporation,  General Counsel for American General Securities, Inc., Assistant General Counsel for American General Life Insurance Company; and Staff Attorney for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  She currently serves as the President of the Washington Bar Association Legal Fund, Inc. and The Christian Products Company.

Ms. Rosier earned her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law, her bachelor of science from Colorado State University, and her financial analyst certification from the University of Virginia.

She has received numerous awards including the C. Frances Stratford Award, which is the highest award bestowed upon a member by the National Bar Association. Ms. Rosier is a member of Leadership Greater Washington, The Links, Incorporated, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Society, Inc.
