Excellence in investigations awards 2013 - Entry now open

AYLESBURY, U.K. - April 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Entries welcomed now!

The awards are the first and only to recognise the achievements of investigators working in the field of criminal investigation and are designed to further promote Continuous Professional Development in the investigative arena. The awards also coincide with the launch of the University of Derby’s Centre for Research in Investigation Methods and Evidence.

We are now seeking entries to the awards from investigators from UK and international police forces.

There are five categories and nominations are welcome from either the nominees or line-managers within their organisations.

The categories are:

· Best major crime – individual or joint
· Best cold case
· Innovation in forensics/digital
· Innovation in investigative interviewing
· Outstanding leadership in an investigation

Entrants must fill in the entry form stating why they believe they are suitable to be considered for the awards. All entries must be emailed to Carol Jenkins at awards@the-investigator.co.uk by no later than Friday 31 May.

An expert panel of judges will consider the entries and the top four in each category will be invited to an awards ceremony at the University of Derby in Buxton on June 27 where the winners will be announced. The winners and nominees will then be invited to give a half an hour presentation each about their nomination to outline the best practice/key learning in each case.

Entry to the competition is free. Any additional places for force members who wish to attend costs £45 each. Nominees and winners will all be given certificates to mark their achievements.
