Frederick Koenig III will serve as a panelist at the American Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section’s 28th Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference, April 3 – 5, 2013.

Koenig will serve as a panelist on a joint task force of American and Chinese lawyers from the ABA Sections on International Law and IPL to discuss China’s proposed Legal Revisions, which were filed by the ABA with China’s official agencies. The panel session, titled “China in the 21st Century: New Laws Proposed on Copyright, Patent and Competition,” Koenig currently serves on the Council of the ABA IPL Section and has held a variety of positions within the section over the past 30 years. He founded the China State Intellectual Property Office/U.S. Bar Liaison Council on which he represents the ABA IPL Section and currently serves as the chair. Koenig is also the current liaison from the IPL Section to the ABA International Law Section and has participated in the generation of joint comments of the sections on six different China law and rule proposals over the last year. Koenig has extensive experience in securing and enforcing patents, trademarks and copyrights in a wide range of diverse industries, both domestically and internationally. He earned his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, his M.A. in mathematics from The Pennsylvania State University, and his B.S. in mathematics, with honors, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Koenig is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is a member of the bar in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Massachusetts. He is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Third, Fourth and Federal Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
