HARRISBURG, Pa. - April 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Earn graduate-level college credits online this summer from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. The private university is offering several classes online from its Learning Technologies Master of Science program. Students attend at the same day/time as classroom learners, but can participate from any location.
Students get the same conversation and instruction that face-to-face classroom learners experience while enjoying the benefits and convenience of attending virtually. Beyond the ability to speak and listen in real-time, Harrisburg University of Science and Technology uses Adobe Connect's functionality to create a virtual environment that mirrors key classroom functions and expands upon others,” says Andy Petroski, director of the LTMS program at Harrisburg University.

LTMS 600 02: Implementing Web 2.0 in the Classroom
Wednesdays, 6-9:15 PM
May 8 - August 14

This course enables exploration and practice with "Web 2.0" learning technologies and investigates how the integration of these technologies in the classroom can impact teaching and classroom dynamics. A variety of tools for managing information, creating content and collaborating for learning will be explored. Within a peer learning model, the student will design, implement and evaluate a classroom activity that incorporates one or more Web 2.0 tools.

LTMS 608 02: Course Management Systems
Mondays, 6-9:15 PM
May 6 - August 12

This course addresses the integral role that the course management system (CMS) plays in today's classroom, online instruction, and blended learning environments. As systems advance and become more affordable, educators and learners are embracing the CMS as the hub of educational coordination and activity. The student will create a learning solution that uses a CMS to implement advanced pedagogical approaches to help the student achieve a higher level of learning. Open source and industry leading software options are both considered.

LTMS 614 02: Social Learning in the Organization
Tuesdays, 6-9:15 PM
May 7 - August 13

This course explores the use of social learning and communication in organizations, the software tools used to enable online social interaction and the challenges of organizational implementation. Social learning technologies enable conversations, content creation, connections and collaboration in the organization. When socially-enabled, these activities can increase productivity, deliver knowledge at the time of need and address time and location challenges that exist in today's organizations. The student will identify a learning or communication opportunity and create a solution using social learning technologies. Open source and industry leading hardware and software options are both considered.

LTMS program is a part-time or full-time 36 semester hour program that provides students with leading edge approaches and skills to help them apply existing and emerging learning technologies in a variety of learning environments.
