Volpe and Koenig, P.C. Shareholder Gerald B. Halt, Jr. Presents at AUTM Asia 2013

PHILADELPHIA - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- Volpe and Koenig, P.C., an intellectual property law firm with offices in Philadelphia, Pa. and Princeton, N.J. announced that Gerald B. (Jay) Halt, Jr., shareholder and firm CEO and president was a panelist at the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) Asia 2013 annual meeting in Kyoto, Japan.  The session entitled, “IP Trend Asia:  Accelerated Examination System and Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) in Asia, U.S. and EU” was held on March 20, 2013.  The seminar featured a panel of industry authorities who shared their expertise on the bilateral agreements among the national patent offices that enable patent applicants to request fast-track examination procedures.  

AUTM Asia 2013 is the largest legal gathering of academic research institutions, industry and technology transfer professionals in Asia.  The three-day event featured speakers from North America, Asia, and Oceania, discussing the latest trends related to transferring and commercializing technology.

Halt focuses his practice on securing, licensing, and enforcing intellectual property rights throughout the world. He frequently travels to Asia to consult with clients on licensing of IP rights, validity and infringement opinions, due diligence, litigation and administrative proceeding, particularly in view of the recently enacted America Invents Act.

Halt is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  Halt earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and his B.S. in electrical engineering from Villanova University.
