Physicians are you sqeezed between professional and personal time?

LIMA, Ohio - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- We are all constantly struggling with balancing our professional and personal time.  We spend too much time in the office on tasks which take us away from our personal time.

With the expert help and experience of experienced MOA’s and mid-level providers allows the physician to concentrate on taking care of the critical care patients.  Utilizing these extenders in your office will allow for a constant flow of proficient care for your patients.

Many practices and hospital employment groups are changing their patient scheduling times to allow the provider to obtain this balance. The physician practice of working five days a week,    7 a.m. to 8 p.m. is becoming a thing of the past.  Many practices are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. allowing for the patients who work during the day to schedule their care after work.  This also allows the providers, physician and mid-level, to work three twelve hour days with four days off per week.  This may sound like it would cost more for extra staffing however the increased number of patients being seen and the heightened patient satisfaction makes it all worthwhile.

Placing tip sheets in the patient rooms with the policy and procedures of your office is also a tool well received by the patient.  If this information has not been shared with them they do not know what your practice expectations are for them.  These tip sheets can be either placed on the wall or given to the patient upon entering the room which gives them something to read to pass the time while waiting.

Perhaps the flow of your office space is not being utilized to its fullest.  Ask another provider or trusted friend to walk through your office, during busy office hours, and record their honest opinion regarding the flow, noise level and comfort level of the practice.  Perhaps one change could make all the difference in your time.  Time you could use at the end of the day to go home early!!!!

Perhaps you have thought of changing locations, employment versus private practice or find yourself with the desire for more personal time with your family and that would mean relocating to be closer to them. There are many job opportunities which offer a balance between your professional and personal time.
