IMT Holdings Releases GeoGravy v. 1.0

RESTON, Va. - April 2, 2013 - PRLog -- IMT Holdings, Corp., announces the immediate release of  GeoGravy™ v. 1.0.  GeoGravy is a Java-based geospatial-tagging engine with a robust, extensible gazetteer.  GeoGravy bridges the gap between text data and geospatial metadata allowing you to organize your data with location-based analytics.  GeoGravy uses a proprietary collection of disambiguation algorithms to recognize the difference between Paris, France and Paris, Virginia…even if the original data doesn’t.

·      Coordinate-Tag:  Provides most likely geocoordinate from a place name.

·      Coordinate-Locator:  Provides a list of most likely coordinates from a list of place names.

·      Geo-Tag:  Location-based geospatial list of nearby names and places associated with a particular geocoordinate.

·      Geo-Locator:  The GeoGravy API supports nearness allowing you to locate a list of place names associated with the geocoordinate within a specified distance.

·      GeoGravy provides extensive geocoordinate normalization utilities to convert geocoordinates from DDS, DMS, UTM, UPS, USNG, GEOREF, MGRS, and Maidenhead standards to one another.

GeoGravy contains and internal gazetteer that offers millions of unique name entries and integrates with NGA’s GNIS and USGS’ GEOnet Names Server, giving a complete list of entries used to identify and disambiguate geographic reference, assign latitude/longitude coordinates or vice versa covering the entire globe.  GeoGravy includes names and geocoordinates for geographic features including:

·      Continents, countries, and transnational regions

·      Cities, towns, and villages,

·      Provinces, states, and counties

·      Natural physical features

·      Man-made spot features, facilities, and roads

The GeoGravy gazetteer has full CRUD capabilities with the ability to add customer-specific gazetteer information or update the existing out of the box GeoGravy gazetteer.  GeoGravy works with REST web service with an abstraction layer to put responses on the major map services (ESRI, Google, Bing, Yahoo!), as well as its own built-in map service so that GeoGravy can be used on secure or stand-alone networks.
