Retroids partners with Aurcade for console high score tracking including live stream attempts

Testing at Wisconsin event proves successful and live streams to be accepted

CHICAGO - April 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Today, Retroids LLC (http://www.Retroids.com) announces a partnership with arcade game location and high score tracking website, Aurcade (http://www.Aurcade.com) to begin tracking high scores for home consoles, including live stream attempts via Twitch.tv.

Retroids tested their console tracking endeavor last year at the Midwest Gaming Classic show in Brookfield, Wisconsin on March 24th, 2012 with the Retroids Videolympics high score contest featuring Atari 2600 and Nintendo Entertainment System games. High score attempts took place on original hardware, using the original games and were streamed live over Twitch.tv. High scores were then entered on the spot and were viewable via an Aurcade tournament electronic scoreboard.

A second live test was performed at this year's Midwest Gaming Classic, March 23rd and 24th, 2013 to prove functionality of the Retroids Videolympics Scoreboard for consoles. Retroids is now ready to begin taking scores for all home consoles via live stream submissions on Twitch.tv. The latest verified scores will be viewable via the front page of Retroids (http://www.retroids.com).

“We’re all about the community,” said Retroids' Terry Minnich. “Playing together live and online with members of our website is a rewarding experience. Score chasing is another one of those aspects that makes gaming fun and we want to bring more people on board to experience it, starting with the classics.”

"I'm looking forward to helping the console gamers meet other like-minded individuals and record their personal achievements,” Williams noted. “Community participation has always been a large portion of our vision at Retroids, and the Aurcade system is another step towards that ideal."

“We are excited to be working with Retroids, as they have the passion for console gaming that we have for coin-ops," said Aurcade owner David Hernly. "The collaboration opens up a whole new realm of classic games people can enjoy and compete on.”
