Bhopal, 29th  March 2013: Continuing its effort of providing innovative and unique value added services, Tata DOCOMO, the unified telecom brand of Tata Teleservices Limited, has launched a first of its kind service for its ardent Facebook fans- Facebook Check-In using USSD. Tata DOCOMO GSM customers can access this service without any internet, GPS or mobile data services.

Facebook Check-In is a unique location-based service which allows a user to "Check-In" to a location over USSD. This Check-in will show on the user’s Facebook profile. When a user uses Check-in, he/she shares his/her physical location with other people on their network. To use this service, customers can dial *325*50# and share “where they are” on their Facebook page anytime, anywhere without using internet or GPS. Check in service will be charged at Re 1/- per location check-in. The service leverages Tata DOCOMO’s location based platform to identify user’s location and thus eliminates the need of a GPS enabled phone. The service is first in the market brought together with their partners U2opia Mobile. In addition, TATA and U2opia Mobile have rolled out Facebook Messaging for users without mobile Internet on their phone.
