DETROIT - March 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Just went you thought you'd seen everything.....A new website dedicated to the male adult fans of the '80s cartoon series, My Little Pony launches online. Brony.com, a mid-western based e-commerce outlet specializing in the sale of "Brony" t-shirts,accessories and the reporting of the general news surrounding the animated characters has taken to the internet.

Now for those not familiar with the term "Brony"or it's plural "Bronies",  a Brony is a adult male fan of the children's 1980's animated television series My Little Pony and most recently the 2010 reincarnation of the cartoon series on The Hub Network, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.

The term coined in 2010 on a popular comic book forum chat board took off like wildfire as the show premiered on television.  The term Brony too, also indicates a unisex description of the shows fanbase outside of it's intended targeted audience. Female fans are often referred to as "Bronies"  or "Pegasisters" as some fans of the show have labeled its older female audience online.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic has become a cultural phenomenon over the last two years.   Magazine articles have popped up in such diverse but incredibly cultural and internet savy publications as The New York Times and Wired.  The television series has found an even larger audience thanks in part to free internet streaming outlets like Youtube as well as it's presence on Netflix Instant as of March 2013.   Hundreds of fan made websites have popped up all over the web. World wide charities have been founded with Brony themes.   Fan gatherings or conventions for the series have become so popular that often there are as many as three a month across the United States or Canada, and the hit TV Land network series, Hot In Cleveland has even paid tribute to the movement.

Even a feature length documentary was produced last year.  Executive Produced by actor and former voice artist for the show, John de Lancie (Star Trek: The Next Generation) BRONIES:  The Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony (2012) travels across the United States to various conventions examining the phenomenon via it's most passionate fans.

" We wanted to create a site where fans could go to get shirts that displayed their My Little Pony fandom and let loose with their inner Bronyness. If that's even a word?" Says Brony.com editor Justin B.  " The phenomenon is wonderful.  I'm a fan of the show as are many that are involved in the website.   The site is new, but soon we'll have interviews with fans of the show, website creators, and hopefully some involved with the making of the show too."

More recently, a independent study group fascinated with all things "Brony"  decided to set up a census and questionnaire about the herd.   Over the course of several months it was participated in by over twenty thousand fans of the show.   The outcome provided that fans of the show are your average normal every day folks.   You can see the full results of the census HERE:  http://www.brony.com/bronies-census-results/
