Hilton Hollis Is Featured Designer At Memphis Fashion Weekend From April 5-6, 2013

NEW YORK - March 29, 2013 - PRLog -- NYC fashion designer, Hilton Hollis, will be a featured designer at Memphis Fashion Weekend from April 5-6, 2013. He will be featuring looks from his Spring 2013 collection, “Ethereal Angels”.  MFW cultivates local and regional fashion through designers, photographers, models and boutiques. Proceeds from official events benefit ArtsMemphis and The Emerging Memphis Designer Project.

Memphis Fashion Weekend has grown into an event that is held twice a year to showcase designer’s Spring and Fall collections.  Memphis is quickly becoming known for its creative arts and MFW ensures that fashion continues to grow as a leader in the Memphis arts scene. MFW is the only event in Memphis bringing together stylists, designers, photographers and models to showcase local talent.

Memphis Fashion Weekend is developing a program for local designers to help cultivate their talent and train needed business skills for marketing and sales of their collections.  Local designers will have a chance to submit looks to participate in the first Emerging Memphis Designers Project.  Proceeds of MFW benefit this Project, as well as ArtsMemphis.  Sponsors include Memphis Magazine, RSVP Magazine, and Memphis College of Art.

Hollis will also have a Spring and Fall 2013 trunk show at Joseph’s from April 5-6, 2013.  The Spring 2013 collection, titled “Ethereal Angels”, accentuates the simplicity and purity of shapes that emphasizes a woman’s femininity.  The Fall 2013 collection, titled “The Exoskeleton”, mimics surface textures of some animals with an exoskeleton, covering the body with fabric that acts as a barrier against the elements and strength of which is given in these outer shells.  Joseph’s in Memphis is an intimate, highly focused specialty store carrying luxury designer apparel, shoes, and handbags.
