SAN DIEGO - March 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Three members of San Diego immigration law firm Guerra & Johnson, P.C. were recently present at special lunch event with the Honorable Barry Ted Moskowitz, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of California. The event, which was coordinated by the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of San Diego, was held in the judge’s courtroom in the recently opened federal building located downtown San Diego.

The event, which was held on March 19, 2013, was an intimate gathering of a diverse group of professionals in the South Asian legal community. Those attending the luncheon included lawyers from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, partners at several downtown law firms, law clerks and even pre-law students who were visiting from Harvard University. At the function, the Chief Judge discussed the development of the federal courthouse, as well as helpful information for those handling cases in his courtroom. He explained that he expected attorneys appearing before him to bring the United States Code and highlighted copies of any cases they planned to use for support. Hors d’oeuvres and chai tea were provided by SABA for to the event’s guests during the discussion.

According to a Fox 5 San Diego news article, almost 20 years of planning and $380 million went into the new federal courthouse, which recently opened its doors on Broadway Street.
