To-do lists - Make the next day’s “to do” list before you leave the office. Rate each item based on its importance, and work on the most important first. The productiveness of any day or meeting depends on how well it’s planned beforehand. You can even make little check boxes for when you complete the task.

Take necessary breaks - It’s great to stay focused, but you are actually more productive if you break. The quality of your work will diminish as fatigue sets in, grab a sandwich, go for a walk, get some fresh air!

Don't wait on others - The waiting game is a productivity killer. Waiting for someone to return a call or an email is the perfect excuse to stop working for three hours. Just ask what can be done in the meantime? The longer you deal with others, the more you realize they just don’t get things done. You have to do it yourself.

Avoid multitasking - Multitasking is something we all do these days but our brains just aren’t cut out for it. When you multitask, you’re interfering with your brain’s ability to perform at max-capacity. Do one thing at a time, minimize context shifts, and maximize brain power!

Sleep - Never under estimate the rejuvenating powers of a solid sleep. Don’t struggle to stay up and finish a project that might be better suited for the morning. Get your rest, set the alarm, stay healthy.

Take notes - Pen and paper, tablet, smart phone, whatever way inspires you, jot down actions, ideas, names, places… just make sure these items are stored in places other than memory.

Answer the Phone - Communication is key. Sometimes just picking up the phone can be much more productive than constructing an email. Don’t let the internet destroy your ability to converse with other humans.

Review Your Day - Make sure that you drive your day, don’t let it drive you. Make sure you are always moving forwards and making progress. Sit down and see if you got everything you needed to get done done!
