Follow on Google News | Iraq-inspired writer set for Swansea performance on 11 AprilA famous writer who’s visited war-ravaged Iraq is soon performing at Swansea’s Dylan Thomas Centre.
By: City and County of Swansea Robert Minhinnick, a poet and novelist who co-founded Friends of the Earth (Cymru), will perform ‘An Opera in Baghdad’ from his New Selected Poems on Thursday April 11 with actress Tracy Evans. The work, inspired by a 1997 visit, addresses the political and environmental destruction wrought by ongoing conflict in Iraq. Swansea Council has arranged the appearance. Robert will be joined on the politically- Tickets are £5, £3.50 for concessions or £1.60 under Swansea Council’s Passport to Leisure scheme.
