Bedales round-up the winter sports season with wins

PETERSFIELD, U.K. - March 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Students from Bedales and Bedales Prep, Dunhurst scored wins in fixtures and tournaments across rugby, hockey and netball as the spring term drew to a close in a successful finish of Winter sports.

Dunhurst’s U13 A hockey team won a tournament hosted by the school, scoring multiple goals in matches versus Alton Convent and Ditcham Park. Dunhurst’s U13 B team also performed well considering they had just progressed from the U12 squad. In rugby, Dunhurst’s Under 11’s performed well in a match against Great Ballard School winning 45-28. In netball, the Under 11 A team beat Ditcham Park 18-4.

Bedales rugby concluded their season well with both the U16 and U18 teams winning the Plate competition at the Hampshire Schools 7’s Tournament. Boys’ hockey also did well beating Meoncross School 4-3 in a recent match. In girls’ hockey, the U16 indoor team beat Petersfield Hockey club 5-1. In girls’ netball, the 1st team and the U15Bs won their matches against Lord Wandsworth College scoring 17-14 and 25-8 respectively. The 1st team also won their match against Christ’s Hospital along with the U14A team.

Commenting on the sports season, Head of Dunhurst, Jane Grubb, said, “It has been a tricky season with bad weather and many cancellations, yet the pupils have competed well showing great team spirit and determination. We are looking forward to the start of next term when the summer sports season commences and let’s hope the weather plays ball too.”
