Glasgow Interactive Ask If There is An Entrepreneur Inside You?

Glasgow, UK, March 2013 - Just about everyone dreams of being an entrepreneur at some point, and why not? The attractions are obvious – the independence, flexibility, passion and pride of starting your own business sound great. Given the present economic reality of our time, more people than ever before have found the "job" they thought was waiting for them doesn't exist. Others have come to the conclusion that they would rather create work they love, constructed to fit with their own life goals.

But, of course, not everyone is cut out for entrepreneurship. Some lack the dedication, others the work ethic or it could be fear of risk and possible financial insecurity.

So if you have entrepreneurial dreams but are unsure about whether you should pursue them, how should you go about deciding whether to take the leap? Perhaps the only way to know if you're really cut out for entrepreneurship is to actually give it a try?
If you are dissatisfied with your current circumstances, you have to realise that no one can fix them except for you. You can blame the economy, your boss, your spouse or your family but it’s a waste of time. Change can only occur when you make a conscious decision to make it happen.

Then you have to identify the right business for you. You can either Do What You Know: Think of ways you could package your skills and offer them as your own services or products. You can  Do What Others Do: Learn about other businesses that interest you. Once you have identified a business you like, emulate it. Or you could Solve a Common Problem: Is there a service or product you would like to fill a gap in the market?

As an entrepreneur, your personal life and business life are interconnected. You have to build a support network. You can’t be the most successful version of yourself without support so you need to cultivate a network around you with advisors, partners, and allies. If you believe in your business, others will, too.

If you take these steps, you'll be well on your way to becoming your own boss. It's important to remember that you are not alone. If you want to "be your own boss" but you still feel stuck, reach out and connect with other entrepreneurs in a variety of ways. You may be surprised by the invaluable contacts that are right at your fingertips.

“At Glasgow Interactive we provide support, training and the tools that young inspired entrepreneurs need to take that first step. We train people in leadership, business, management, sales, promotions, marketing and then help them to set up their own business once they have acquired the necessary skills.” Says Gilles Baudet, CEO. “It was over a decade ago now but I knew I wanted the freedom of being my own boss, I just didn’t know how to do it on my own. We’ve created an opportunity and it’s open to anyone who proves they have what it takes.”
