March 27, 2013 - PRLog -- BUSINESSWOMEN BECOME PUBLISHED AUTHORS

I AM WOMAN  recently held a celebration event in Cardiff to mark the completion of their Kindle Book Challenge. All Authors received awards.

12 Women from the Business Clubs have written and published books with support from Book Coach Jacqui Malpass and Kindle Book Expert Cathy Presland.  In addition to providing technical expertise, Jacqui and Cathy have helped the authors stay motivated and focussed throughout the 5 month challenge.  The participants also supported each other, sharing together, the highs and lows of their writing journey.

Cathy Presland says ‘So often, people fail at the first hurdle because they feel alone with their writing project. With this challenge we created a team spirit which carried everyone along.’

Women from across England, Scotland and Wales participated. Some of the ladies wrote about topics relating to their businesses such as Angharad Brown’s ‘Emotional Intelligence,’ and Bridget Kirsop’s ‘Mindset For Business.’  Others shared their personal experiences of overcoming difficult periods in their life such as Elaine Godley’s ’My Right Breast Used To Be My Stomach.’ For two of the authors, Sue Maggot and Gill Potter the books produced were companions to their previous publications. They chose to take part in this writing project because of the benefits of working as part of a collaborative group of women. The books are all available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk

Founder of I AM WOMAN http://www.iamwoman.biz  Cheryl Bass explains why she decided to launch the Kindle book challenge: ‘All over the world women are sharing their gifts. In the U.S. we have seen a phenomenal rise in businesswomen and entrepreneurs publishing books and building successful on going careers from their many years of experience.  In the U.K. businesswomen don’t usually shout about how brilliant they are. These books change that.’

Jacqui Malpass continues: ‘Our aim was to unshackle and release the creative spirit of our fellow writers, to help them to use their writing as not only a cathartic process but as a way to build personal confidence and to grow their businesses. ‘

The challenge fundamentals of learning new skills and supporting other women in business align with I AM Woman’s aims to Walk Alongside Women In Business and encourage continual learning.

I AM WOMAN is expanding and Cheryl is actively seeking new leaders to launch clubs in their local area. Another writing challenge will also be commencing soon and this time members will be contributing to an anthology. Jacqui and Cathy also run writing programmes for none members.
