Colleges Focus on Engagement with New Technology Initiative

TULSA, Okla. - March 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Community Care College (CCC), Clary Sage College (CSC) and Oklahoma Technical College (OTC) are integrating technology into their lesson plans. Each campus will begin including an iPad Mini in every student’s enrollment beginning Monday, April 1.

“This is an exciting time for our colleges and the iPad initiative has been extremely well-received by our employees,” said Dr. Celia Stall-Meadows, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at the schools.

A soft launch was done earlier in the month with faculty. Instructors at each campus were provided an iPad mini and have spent the past several weeks attending training and researching apps and methods to integrate the devices seamlessly into their classes and add the most value to their students.

“Mobile devices inspire hands-on learning using creative features that students really want to use,” said Teresa Knox, CEO. “Our partnership with Apple takes engagement to a new level, fostering an interactive and dynamic relationship between student and student and instructor and student.”

Starting April 1, students enrolled in the schools’ introductory Career and Life Development course at all three campuses will receive an iPad mini.

“The course has been restructured to heavily incorporate mobile technologies in the curriculum, including e-textbook readers, educational apps, and personal branding opportunities,” said Stall-Meadows.

This instant access to information will enhance the classroom experience, according to Knox, who went on to explain how the added social platforms and lifestyle apps will assist and elevate students’ productivity and engagement in the home, at school, and in their career.

Current students further along in their programs will be given the opportunity to purchase a device at a discounted rate through the school.
