NYACK, N.Y. - March 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Liqui-Site Designs, Inc. announced today the winner of its third annual Pro Bono Promo Contest for non-profit organizations and the recipient of a new custom website, the Virginia Avenue Project  www.virginiaavenueproject.org – an arts education organization serving the greater Los Angeles area.

Founded in 1992, the Virginia Avenue Project is a free in and out -of-school program using the Arts in conjunction with long-term mentoring to help children, ages 6-18, think creatively, critically and confidently about their life goals and choices. Its curriculum includes classes and workshops, year-round academic tutoring and mentoring, and artistic productions. Project kids work in collaboration with adult mentors to develop life skills and give voice to their creativity.  The Project presents four to five shows a year at professional theatres throughout Los Angeles - showcasing poetry, plays, photography and video created by Project kids and their adult artist/mentors - in addition to publishing an annual literary magazine.

Over 100 committed volunteers work with the Project each year as mentors, tutors, teachers, designers, and committee members.  Additionally, the organization has a long and special relationship with the Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL).  Their collaboration gives children a safe haven for hundreds of young people and introduces the arts into the surrounding community. Through these partnerships and its Outreach Program, the organization has worked with public schools, Title One schools and schools for children who are learning disabled.  The organization’s results are a testament to its hard work and unique approach. Since its inception - for kids who spend at least two years in the program - 100% have graduated from high school and 95% have gone on to college, many being the first in their families to do so.

Liqui-Site Designs (http://www.liqui-site.com/ ) is pleased to work with this special organization to design and develop a new custom website, to be built on the Wordpress CMS platform.  Started in 2010, Liqui-Site’s Pro Bono Promo gives back to non-profit organizations across America by recognizing that they need a competitive online presence to successfully advance mission, raise awareness, and execute successful fundraising campaigns.  The Virginia Avenue Project will receive a free website – designed, developed and fully optimized for search engines (SEO) and administrative management – including up to 15 content pages, a donation form, a contact form, social media integration and more.

“For the Project, this could not have happened at a better time. Having celebrated our twentieth anniversary in 2012 and spending this year honoring our retiring founder, Leigh Curran, we have wanted to freshen our look and the functionality of our site. With our very limited resources, this was a wish we were unlikely to have fulfilled, until now. Thank you, Liqui-Site Designs,” said Kent Wallace-Meggs, Executive Director of the Virginia Avenue Project.
