Mercedes-Benz Shoppers In Doylestown Excited by the Success of The Central Bucks YMCA 5K

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. - March 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Participating in fundraising foot races and walks is a fantastic way to help raise money and awareness for special causes. These races are fun for everyone.

For Mercedes-Benz shoppers in Doylestown looking for a great way to get involved with their community, Keenan Motors is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Central Bucks Family YMCA Community Support Campaign The proceeds from last weekend’s 5K will go towards a number of worthy programs offered by the Central Bucks Family YMCA.

This year’s 5K race was held on Saturday, March 23rd. Proceeds will fund vital community programs at the YMCA including THRIVE cancer wellness program, which provides membership and specialized wellness programs to cancer survivors; 7th grade initiative, which provides membership and programs to all local 7th graders; and financial assistance, which provides help to individuals and families who need support.  

Central Bucks County Residents of All Ages Participated In The 5K

Last weekend’s race was a huge success. There were over 630 runners and 270 fun runners that turned out for this celebration. The new format for this race made it even better than years past. The weather and music helped make it even more fantastic. All the funds raised for the 5K will be given towards a number of great Central Bucks YMCA programs.

Some of these programs include the 7th grade initiative, which promotes healthy lifestyles and responsible activities for the area’s youth, cancer wellness programs, and a number of other worthy causes. Participants were also able to donate their shoes to the Re-Use Shoes Organization after the race.

In addition to enjoying the race itself, participants enjoyed a number of fun post-race activities as well. These included a pasta party, an award ceremony, live music, and plenty of food in addition to the pasta party for all those involved.
