Goose Creek Music Announces New Live Blair Crimmins Album

PURCELLVILLE, Va. - March 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Multimedia music production company Goose Creek Music of Purcellville, Virginia, is excited to announce an upcoming live album release with Atlanta Ragtime and Americana artist Blair Crimmins and his band, Blair Crimmins and the Hookers.  The recordings were captured in front of an enthusiastic audience on December 1, 2012 at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta, and feature performances of the full 7-piece band with Dixieland horns, rowdy ragtime piano and gypsy jazz guitar.  Videos from the show highlighting the band’s trademark use of burlesque and dancing flapper girls will also be available on YouTube, Facebook, and other social networks.  The album, titled “Live in Little Five” will be released on June 4, 2013.

Blair Crimmins’ blend of trad jazz, dixieland, gypsy jazz, and ragtime has been a growing force in the Atlanta music scene and throughout the Southeast US since 2009.  When the concert at the Variety Playhouse was booked late last year, Crimmins realized that the World War II-era venue was a perfect backdrop for a live audience recording of the band’s unique approach, which updates classic old-time music styles with modern sensibilities.  “This music is about how I feel living in modern times, but with an old soul,” said Crimmins.  “The Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points has been my favorite venue in Atlanta since I was a kid, and the old-time style of the place is a great setting for our boisterous music and burlesque show.”

“This is a band you have to experience live to get the whole picture,” said Goose Creek Music’s President Mike Pugh.  “When we reviewed the tapes we realized that not only were the audio recordings outstanding, but that the video footage really captures the live energy of Blair’s unique music. We knew it was a perfect fit for our Goose Creek Live series.”  The Living Room Recording studio in Atlanta is now finalizing mixes for the video tracks, which will be released online in April and May, and audio for the album release, on June 4.
