Chic Publications Launches Cbus Chic

CINCINNATI - March 26, 2013 - PRLog -- The City of Columbus got a little more chic this month as a new online publication for women in Central Ohio, called “Cbus Chic,” just launched.

Cbus Chic is owned and produced by Chic Publications, based in Cincinnati where its prototype publication, Cincy Chic, launched in 2007. Today, Cincy Chic boasts more than 22,000 opt-in subscribers, 10,000 social media followers, as well as monthly events that attract more than 600 attendees to each and generate $20,000+ annually for charity.

“After seeing the overwhelming success of Cincy Chic, I knew we needed to launch the concept in other middle sized markets across the nation,” explains CEO Amy Scalia. “The first city of course being Columbus, the ‘Test Market Capital' of the U.S.”

Cbus Chic launches with a monthly editorial schedule, weekly “Chic This Week” TV segments on WTTE FOX28 each Friday morning at 9:30, regular blog and social media updates, as well as two signature events a year. The first event will be a holiday shopping expo in November 2013, and will double as a launch party.

The publication is subscription based, but offers a free subscription to its database that allows readers to be the first to learn about its new editorial and events. Revenue support is generated through ad and event sponsorship.

“This is an exciting endeavor on many fronts,” explains Scalia. “It’s a big step for Chic Publications to begin the spin-off process of new Chic titles. Secondly, we’re now providing a valuable and vibrant resource for local ladies to learn about and connect with local people products and services in Central Ohio.”
