Follow on Google News | Back To Bags In Brooklyn, New YorkBrooklyn Industries Reestablishes Authentic Manufacturing Inside Their Headquarters
After one year, several new designs, and a factory expansion at the company’s headquarters in Dumbo, Brooklyn Industries is proud to launch the latest addition to the “Made in Brooklyn” series, the Dumbo Mailbag. Constructed with a nylon outer shell made from U.S. made CORDURA® and a recycled vinyl tarp inner lining, the Dumbo Mailbag is a durable and rugged design in the classic Brooklyn Industries messenger shape, favoring simple lines, functionality, and a modern design. The second addition to the Made in Brooklyn series for 2013 is the premium Montague series, available as a backpack, tote, satchel, or cross body, and available in turquoise, orange, and black. Skilled craftsmen make these utilitarian, polished, and smart designs from the finest quality leather in the U.S. The collection derives its inspiration and namesake from Montague Street in the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood, which opens up onto the resplendent Promenade and a view of the city. To officially launch this new line of bags, Brooklyn Industries will be hosting an event, called “Handcrafted in Brooklyn.” This event will take place Friday March 29th, 2013 from 6:30-9:00 at their SoHo store location on 290 Lafayette Street, New York City. Brooklyn Industries has partnered with other Brooklyn-based businesses whose products will be giveaways with the purchase of any “Made In Brooklyn” bag during this event. Guests can select from quality items including temporary tattoos from Tattly, edible treats from Anarchy In A Jar, Brooklyn Hard Candy, The Good Batch cookies, Brooklyn Roasting Company coffee, and hand made toys from Pinky Punk. Brooklyn Gin and Brooklyn Brewery will sponsor complimentary drinks.
