Powerful Song for Domestic Violence Awareness: Teacher Mother Sister Daughter

CHANDLER, Ariz. - March 26, 2013 - PRLog -- A starkly moving and personal portrayal of the destruction and loss caused by domestic violence, the song Teacher Mother Sister Daughter was created as a cry for personal healing and understanding after a horrific family tragedy. With words and music by songwriter Tim Ponzek, recording artist Lisa Pressman sings about the tragic realities and consequences of Domestic Violence in our world today. Pressman and Ponzek have produced and released Teacher Mother Sister Daughter on iTunes Worldwide with the intention to raise awareness about Domestic Violence.

Teacher Mother Sister Daughter was composed by Lisa’s husband Tim Ponzek in 1996 as a path to their healing and first produced in 2001. Lisa recalls, “I had to reach deep down within myself to sing this song, not only for myself, but for my family, because Tim’s lyric was so very emotional: She wants what you took away. She wants what you can’t replace. She wants what you laid your hands on. She wants what you laid to waste…” This past fall Lisa decided to re-master and release Teacher Mother Sister Daughter after attending at an educational event at Sojourner Center where she shared Teacher Mother Sister Daughter with speaker Stephanie Angelo, SPHR, owner of Human Resource Essential, LLC. Ms. Angelo’s company partners with organizations and corporate leaders to create workplaces that are safe and supportive. “This song is a compelling expression of the lasting and far-reaching effects of violence.
