Follow on Google News | Early bird discount until 01 April for the Isle of Man Aviation Conference on 13 June 2013The Global Connection is the theme of the Isle of Man Aviation Conference, taking place on Thursday 13 June at the Villa Marina in Douglas. This theme reflects the global reach of the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry. Discounted fee ends 01 April.
By: ICM Aviation The 2013 theme reflects the global reach of the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry and the continuing emergence of the Island as a major International Business Centre. Over 560 aircraft have been registered since the Registry was founded in 2007. It was voted 'best in the world' in a 2012 survey of leading aviation lawyers, conducted by aviation publication Corporate Jet Investor. The 2012 Isle of Man Aviation Conference attracted over 150 delegates from the Isle of Man, UK, Europe and beyond, and boasted a high profile list of speakers. Feedback was excellent and according to delegate Andrew Hoy of Execujet, the conference is, “A genuine “one not to miss” annual event”. Andrew is one of the many delegates to have registered already for the 2013 event. The early bird discount, offered by conference organisers ICM Aviation, is valid until 01 April. Mark Byrne, director of ICM Aviation and co-founder of the conference told us: “One of the aims of this event is to showcase the breadth of expertise and knowledge amongst aviation professionals on the Island. I am confident the theme of the conference will attract high profile delegates and speakers again this year and demonstrate the global nature of our business. Our conference chair this year is Alasdair Whyte, editor of Corporate Jet Investor. I have no doubt he will bring energy and experience to the event. We already have confirmed speakers from BBGA, EBAA, Bombardier and Dassault Aviation. We listened to feedback from our 2012 delegates and have increased the number of networking opportunities from the Wednesday evening through to the Friday morning, culminating with a trip round the TT course with Milky Quayle. Meeting other delegates is often as important as the content of the presentations.” One of the key speakers to address the 2013 conference is Hartley Elder, Director of Civil Aviation on the Isle of Man. Interest in the services offered by the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry continues to grow and the conference is a perfect opportunity for Hartley and his colleagues to have face-to-face meetings with delegates and develop new contacts. Hartley commented: “The Aviation Conference has proved to be very popular with clients and organisations involved in the business aviation sector and I feel privileged to have been asked to address delegates. In the new high tech world, we usually work with clients remotely so this is a wonderful opportunity to meet with them personally, to give them the chance to visit the Aircraft Registry and to see and experience our beautiful Island.“ The conference will be opened by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor Mr Adam Wood and take place in the glorious Royal Hall in the Villa Marina. The conference is sponsored by media partner Fly Corporate and Appleby (Isle of Man) LLC and Luviair.
