Johann Sebastian Bach gives here free hasten to his musical creativeness. The Toccatas represent for us a dependable testimony of what possess made the Leipzig Cantor improvising on keyboards generally a considerable success.

The seven Toccatas by Bach, Johann Sebastian date between 1708 and 1710. All are early musical works, a lot of of those may even be authored earlier. We include here a youthful Bach, primarily interested in exploring the possibilities of virtuoso keyboard performing.

All musical works pursue an virtually identical constitutional planning: "free-virtuoso-improvisatory" beginning ("a la Chromatic Fantasy") then an alternation of lively fugatos and strikingly glorious slow parts. Those unhurried parts come each time with audacious harmonic progressions. They invariably surprise us with the scope of the musical creative imagination in regards to them. Level often where exactly they seem to extend "too much" in length, they must be seen as "transcriptions" of the endless musical ingenuity and skill of Bach, Johann Sebastian improvising.

Mehmet Okonsar stands out as the First Prize Winner at the International Young Virtuosos Competition, Antwerp, Belgium, 1982 and he is laureate of various other important worldwide piano contests for example, the Gina Bachauer, Sixth Prize, Salt Lake City-UT, 1991 and J. S. Bach, Second Prize, Paris, France 1989.

He is graduated from the Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music. His extensive discography contains a particular number of compositions by J. S. Bach, Liszt and Schumann.

Being a musicologist, author as well as lecturer, Okonsar's writings are published in various music periodics. His essays as well as analyses are issued in English and French, he is moreover a lecturer about music, composing along with technology.

Even though having began his schooling at Ankara, at the National Conservatory of this town founded by Paul Hindemith, he regularly stated that most his "real" musical instruction was provided in Belgium.

Even at his primary public appearance in 1979, the particular eclecticism associated with his recital programs ahead might be found. He offered a collection of the Preludes by Messiaen among others. At the finish of his piano studies, Okonsar received the benefit of working together with most significant composers of Belgium: Madame Jacqueline Fontyn. He as well studied with a scholar of Messiaen, Claude Ballif. In 1989 he gets his degrees in Composition-Orchestration from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Brussels.

An initial prize at the International Young Virtuoses Competition of Antwerp in 1982 seemed to be the start of his global career.

His out-of-the-ordinary programs brought the premiere in Turkey of the Concerto for piano by Schoenberg and he is another great admirer as well as performer of Lutoslawski.
