Information Security Forum Joins World Economic Forum’s Partnering for Cyber Resilience Initiative

March 26, 2013 - PRLog -- The Information Security Forum (http://www.securityforum.org) (ISF), a global, independent information security body considered the world's leading authority on cyber security and information risk management, has joined the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Partnering for Cyber Resilience (PCR), a global, multi-industry initiative that is focused on improving cyber resilience, raising business standards and contributing to a safer and stronger connected society. This initiative asks chief executives and government leaders to personally sign a set of cyber principles, setting the tone for their organizations and regions.

“Cyber threats are not just a challenge for IT departments; they require the involvement of every discipline within an organization, its partners and stakeholders,” said Michael de Crespigny, Chief Executive, ISF. “Cyberspace is critical to most organizations today and disconnecting is not an option. By adopting a realistic, collaborative approach to cyber security and resilience, nations, government departments, regulators, senior business executives and information security professionals will be better equipped to understand the true nature of cyber threats and to respond appropriately.”

Cyber security is evolving rapidly and new approaches are being developed all the time. In response to the growing threats and risks in a digitally interconnected world, the PCR provides CISOs with the opportunity to leverage WEF authority and raise awareness of the need for cyber resilience with their CEOs. In total, more than 80 organizations and government bodies across 18 sectors and 26 countries have already signed up and many more are expected over the course of the next year.
