The trees were moved because the customer was moving to a new home and wanted to enjoy the trees at their new home. Over 10 large trees were moved, some of them over 20’ tall, some more than 10’ wide; and in total the trees took up the surface area of a 40’ flatbed trailer and another large truck. The trees included Birch, Styrax, and Japanese Maple trees. Big Trees Inc. arrived at the site of the trees in Redmond, carefully removed them and transported them first by road, next by boat over the Puget Sound itself. Arriving at their final destination, Big Trees unloaded the trees and successfully finished the transplanting process at the new home in the San Juan Islands.
As Big Trees Inc. Project Manager, Todd Holmes stated: “Who says you can’t take your trees with you? Not us here at Big Trees!”
Nancy Penrose, owner of Big Trees Inc., also stated: “The project involved a lot of care, transplanting trees this large and with the delicacies of where the trees had to go. But it was very well done and the trees are doing fine in their new home. We will be following up with the customer again to see how they are doing and to ensure they are getting enough water. An automated drip irrigation system is integral to the trees thriving. It goes to show, no matter how big the tree is, if our Project Manager says it can be done, it can be done.”
