Benchmark Consulting Announces Its Automated COBOL to JRules Conversion Technology

Through the use of the IRIS modernization platform, the most comprehensive tool suite in the industry, Benchmark Consulting can rapidly and cost effectively automate the extraction of business logic from COBOL applications and transform it into IBM-based ILOG JRules.

IRIS uses search algorithms to sift through complex program code and isolate the Business Logic embedded within it. Then, through its language translation technology, IRIS produces Business Rules in Java-based JRules format. Once removed from COBOL, the IRIS refactoring engine cleans up the COBOL and injects JRules integration functionality into the code, all while maintaining traceability between COBOL and JRules.
