BTI Travel Goes Behind “Bars” for Muscular Dystrophy Association

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - March 22, 2013 - PRLog -- BTI Travel, a Syracuse-based vacation and corporate travel management company, announces it will participate in Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) Lock-Up event that runs until April 18.  Participants will raise “bail” (donations) that will help Central New York families with loved ones suffering from muscle diseases.  To help BTI Travel meet and exceed its goal of $2,000, visit www.btitravel.com or click the link BTI Travel_MDA (http://www2.mda.org/site/TR?px=1686913&pg=personal&fr_id=5021) to donate money to MDA.

“We are always looking for ways to be more involved in the community,” says Josh Snyder, Customer Service and Marketing Associate at BTI Travel.  “It is an honor to be a MDA ‘jailbird’ for Syracuse’s 2013 Lock-Up.  The charity has done great things for families struggling with muscle diseases and we hope our participation can help others.”

The MDA Lock-Up is a community-wide event to raise funds for people with neuromuscular diseases.  The Event brings together local businesses and community leaders who agree to be “arrested” and collect “bail” that goes towards research and support for families.

Each donation made to MDA through BTI Travel brings significant help and support. Contributions of $1,480 funds 20 minutes of research, $800 sends one child to MDA Summer Camp, $100 pays for a support group session, $74 funds one minute of research, and $30 funds one flu shot.

Donations will go to MDA, a nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education.
