LOS ANGELES - March 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Popzazz.com, a Los Angeles based e-commerce site featuring fully themed, board game packages, is encouraging businesses to celebrate International Fun At Work Day on April 1st, 2013. Playing board games isn’t just for leisure, board games are also a great way to facilitate team building, disconnect employees from smartphone dependency and allow employees the chance to reconnect to co-workers and the people around them.

Popzazz.com, which ships their board game “parties in a box” nationwide, launched this past February, 2013. The business was started by Beth Millman--the Chief Fun Officer of the company. Millman’s inspiration for having fun at work, and at home, was inspired by her own experience working long days and nights as a busy executive drowning in spreadsheets and other stacks of paper work.

Millman shares, “I was burnt out from work, work, work and no fun! We all work harder and harder, and carving out any time to spend with friends and family can be a real challenge. With popzazz.com, we select the best party board games, which result in fun.  We’re not anti technology—we’re just saying let’s put our phones and tablets down for 20, 30 even 60 minutes a day. Overall, it really is about getting people together to connect face to face and have fun.”

According to a survey conducted by Nestle called the “Fun Quotient” survey, 86 percent of Americans are having fun despite a down economy. However, the survey also went on to add that, “American’s want more fun in the workplace.” And a Gallup poll conducted in August of 2012 reflects that, “less than half of U.S. workers employed full--or part-time feel completely satisfied with most of the aspects of work.”

Millman isn’t surprised by these stats. “I know what it’s like to be stressed out, to see other people experiencing fun and life balance while you’re working non-stop. I now remind people: Life is short, monopoly is long, so play hard but always play.” And with International Fun At Work Day on April 1st rapidly approaching, Millman has these 3 tips to share with companies looking to add a little popzazz, fun and play to their employee’s lives.

1) Surprise employees with a cupcake party by bringing in lots of different flavored cupcakes as a way to say, “thank you” for their hard work. Sweet treats are a cost effective yet impactful way for a company to show employees gratitude.

2) Allow employees a dedicated day to bring their pets to work. Furry friends definitely inspire fun!

3) Do something together as a department or company for the community on company time. Find a non-profit, like Habitat for Humanity, and work as a group to build or restore a house. Giving back is FUN and fulfilling and will bond employees in a way that work cannot. Plus, all employees get to interact in a different light outside of work, which builds a deeper relationship.

Millman goes on to state that, "the fun shouldn't stop at work! We need to bring the fun home too and our board game parties in a box help you do just that." Popzazz.com offers their game of the month package ($60-$100), the Popzazz Table Topics package ($19-$44) and also Mad Libs.
