Aquarium Retail Holdings Announces State-of-the art Fish Import Quarantine Facility

Pompano Beach, Fla., Aquarium Retail Holdings, Inc., which operates Allfish Emporium in Tamarac, FL and Allpets Emporium in Pembroke Pines and Davie, and a soon-to-open location in Coral Springs, FL,  has recently completed the construction of a dedicated Quarantine facility in Pompano Beach.

This unique facility is dedicated solely to the care and evaluation of imported salt water fish species destined for sale only at Allfish Emporium and Allpets Emporium locations throughout S. Florida.

As the vast majority of salt water fish are from natural, wild habitats, the normal mortality rate (as high as 30% upon importation) and subsequent health issues relating to these species, has been a cause for ongoing concern.  By carefully monitoring all fish received and introducing medicine over a 30 day acclimation period, ARH is confident it will be able to deliver a more robust and healthy fish to the end-consumer and a more acclimated fish in terms of suggested eating habits and relevant/accurate optimal habitat instructions to the retail purchaser.

As per Kevin Mathis, ARH manager of Aquariums & Husbandry, the intake process for the 1st shipment of fish is already in process with the first shipments arriving at stores on February 1, 2013.

Since its inception, Aquarium Retail Holdings has been an industry innovator and has developed a reputation as a retail force for the fish hobbyist, both extreme and novice.  The Quarantine facility will enable Allfish and its affiliated Allpets Emporium fish departments to offer a level of satisfaction to the Fish enthusiasts, previously unavailable…ANYWHERE.
