CULTURE & COCKTAILS Concludes Season with Tony Winner Gary Beach

CULTURE & COCKTAILS Concludes Season with a Conversation Between Tony Award Winning Actor Gary Beach & Producer-Director Andrew Kato

March 21, 2013 - PRLog -- This season’s final CULTURE & COCKTAILS recently attracted more than 80 theater buffs to the Lake Worth headquarters of the series host, the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County.

The event was a fascinating chat between Tony Award winning actor Gary Beach and Andrew Kato, Producing Artistic Director of the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.

Gary Beach was the star of numerous Broadway hits, including The Producers (he also starred in the film version), Beauty and the Beast, Les Misérables, Annie and more. He also appeared in such popular TV series as Cheers, Sisters, Queer as Folk and Murder, She Wrote.

The actor delighted the crowd with inside anecdotes about landing his first professional role in the road company of 1776, his biggest Broadway flop, and what it was like to costar in Palm Beach with theatrical icons Mary Martin and Carol Channing. Mr. Beach even brought his Tony Award for attendees to see and hold.

This season of CULTURE & COCKTAILS was the most well attended in the eight-year history of the series, attracting as many as 200 people to several of the “Conversations” held at The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach. The Milton and Tamar Maltz Family Foundation generously sponsored the popular series with additional support from The Palm Beach Daily News and PR-BS, a Boca-based public relations firm.

The ninth annual season of CULTURE & COCKTAILS is expected to return next November.
