PRLog -- In the last 20 years the number on reason for a loss of property sale in New Jersey is leaking underground heating oil tanks. In some cases the a buyer may have put a property sale on hold because of the high price of the remediation. Older classical methods of heating oil remediation required large amounts of soil to be excavated and if ground water was also contaminated it would possibly take years to complete the clean-up and receive a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) " No Further Action" letter. Environmental Systems' patent pending " Bio-Remediation Technology can reduce time and cost to completed required remediation of leaking heating oil tank. Special petroleum digesting microbes reduce heating oil to less complex chemical compounds in shorter amount time then natural attenuation. Not all petroleum contaminated sites may be a candidate for this technology as the heating contamination may be too excessive or site conditions may not meet chemical criteria for this type of remediation. Environmental Systems staff of environmental scientists and microbiologists will review a property's history and recommend appropriate remedial actions necessary to accommodate a " Bio-Remediation"

up. Once a site is reviewed, a list of recommendations will be completed and provided to the property owner. Typically almost all sites will need some excavation of contaminated soils but the amount of soils removed will be significantly less than those proposed by other tank removal companies. Once the microbes are introduced into the area of concern the microbes will begin the breakdown process. Remediation progress will be monitored by periodic soil and ground water sampling to document cleanup and compare to pre-established clean-up goals for the site.
