Student concession card replacements set to peak during March school holidays with expected increase of 10% of reported lost cards
Singapore, 13 March 2013 - TransitLink is pleased to report that its online student concession card replacement feature introduced last year is gaining traction among tech savvy students (and parents), with over 4,000 replacements processed since it was introduced.
The feature is well received as it has been timely introduced as an online solution to meet the increase in student concession card replacements, which is expected to peak during every school holiday with an expected 10% increase in replacements.
Past experience have shown that while student commuters tend to replace their lost concession cards a few days before the new school term starts at Concession Card Replacement Offices, many are becoming more receptive to using the new online feature – this is likely due to the high penetration rate of smartphones in Singapore which facilitates for easy access.
To date, over 4,000 tech savvy student commuters have chosen to have their concession cards replaced online through their electronic gadgets (i.e. smartphones, tablets and PCs). These student concession card holders enjoyed the convenience of having their cards processed within three working days without having to make a visit to any of the six Concession Card Replacement Offices.
TransitLink is expecting a projected 10% increase in student card replacements during the upcoming March school holidays and would like to encourage replacement applications to be submitted online early. This will allow students to receive their cards in time before the new school term starts.

Student Concession Card Replacement Fee and Designated Concession Card Replacement Offices
Replacement charges include a flat administrative fee of $10, $5 card cost and $3 personalisation fee.
